I appreciate the replies. I didn't intend to come across as lazy or not wanting to do maintenance. I bought my '79 GS1000E brand new and still have it. It's better than new and it's never been in a shop because I can't stand others working on my bikes.
I had to sell my '07 ZX14 because my back couldn't take rides of more than a few hours. At the ZX14 forum I read that the valve check interval is 15K in the U.S. but more like 25K for bikes sold in Australia, Malaysia, etc. Apparently, the longer intervals have nothing to do with the fuel and the engines are identical. I read that the EPA was responsible for the shorter U.S. intervals. I was just trying to confirm if that's been the understanding here.
Does the FJR's factory manual show longer intervals for bikes sold outside the U.S.?
