I can only begin to describe the pain ...

... of leaving the FJR cruise control set to 65 mph for 21 hours.

Yet that just happened when I accompanied my wife on her first Iron Butt Association certificate ride.

Jodie rode a 2009 SYM RV250 scooter for 21 hours and 20 minutes covering 1031 miles all within the state of Oklahoma.

Despite only holding an "M" endorsement for 2 years, and having ridden little she did it, and handled it, and me, like a boss.

I am so damned proud of her.

She will get, subject to verification, a Scooter In-State SaddleSore 1000 Gold.

We have an FJR waiting for her.

OMG!

About 45 mpg ... the FJR did better. She pretty much had that 250 on the red-line for 1000 miles.

It shocked me, and the 3.3 gallon tank meant many, many gas stops.

Good for her! You can tell her now that nobody can do a SS1000 on a 250cc scooter, no way, cannot be done.

Congrats Mrs Bracken. Wow 21 hours on a 250 scooter. That's a long time in the saddle for one day.

Is not such a bad idea to get off the saddle for a few minutes every couple of hours. Then again it irks to be forced.
