Travel to Magny Cours from Calais

Hi all - I'm going to Magny Cours WSB races in October and will be crossing at Calais with friends. We've booked a hotel in a little village called Corbigny south of Auxerre. Means we have a nice ride to the track on the Sat/Sun.
We're looking for some good back roads to take south from around Arras as we don't want to go through/around Paris or take much motorway

Any suggestions?
I'm thinking of Calais - Arras - St.Quentin - Soissons - Chateau Thierry - Sens - Auxerre - Clamecy - Corbigny. For no other reason than it's fairly straight down!

It's about 330 miles which is easily manageable in a day - we're going to stop the night in Calais so we set off on the Friday morning nice, bright and (reasonably) early, but more importantly well rested, fed and watered

I've been done a couple of times now on motorways, once around Paris (lovely warm sunshine) and once through it (pouring with rain so hard I had more water on the inside of my visor than out).....
