For $44 for 4L at Amazon @Benhameen should take up Blackstone's suggestion to go 6,000 miles.

I may start stretching it out too 6000miles. I try to buy the oil from a local Independent motorcycle shop. They have a gallon jug deal. **** I forgot what I pay, $25-$35 for a gallon. I’d like to support them more but I try to do as much of my own service as possible.

Maintain universal balance

Hmmm, I really respect your opinion (on matters FJR) but .... but ... I think you didn't look closely at the label of the blue jug photo I posted. I've attached the (what I suppose must be) the relevant detail...

I see that now in the fine print. But JASO MA requires SAE/API "S" or comparable gasoline engine rating from Japan or Europe. Which the cited oil lacks.

Perhaps this Rotella is sufficient for 2-stroke transmission or one of the few 4-stroke dirtbikes which has separate engine and transmission oils?

With that Blackstone report I'd be delighted to pay $25-$35 for that oil.

Shocking to some but Amazon doesn't have the best prices all that often any more. But is a good quick reference for estimating the worst case.
