Had to do the same recently. OEM part is available, but I got one from ebay much cheaper.

Took some digging using different search terms.... note, new one is U$28 from Partzilla plus shipping.... maybe make an offer. Same part from 2006 to current. When I was looking they were very rare as well.

I just looked on Fowler's of Bristol parts website for you and that part is nil stock on back order, just like a lot of other parts.
Yamaha - please get your finger out of your ass.

I live in France. There is an advert on a french site called Le BonCoin (literally - "The good corner" it's a sort of french version of ebay.)

This guy has dismantled and is selling a complete 2006 FJR 1300, looking at the picture I would think it's an ex - french police or gendarme bike.

The picture of the dismantled parts shows the square black plastic seat base/height adjuster that you are looking for.

Just found another possible source over here for you - this guy has advertised on here before, I know he buys ex-gendarme/police bikes and equipment, he speaks english, email him in english -give him a try.

My advice is to go to UK Ebay, find a few strippers that are currently selling parts from a Gen. 2 FJR and just contact them through EBAY.

Send a pic of the part you want to each of them and a short paragraph giving them what you are willing to pay SHIPPED TO YOUR HOUSE.

Copy the first paragraph you write and then just paste it to the next 4-5.

I will bet your 30 minutes of work will net you what you want.

Most strippers just don't imagine anyone is going to NEED that thing, since they don't wear out and every bike comes with one.

Phil - there are not that many FJR's in the UK - I don't know why but Honda is much stronger than Yamaha over there.
But here in France there are very few Honda's and a lot of Yamaha's!
Very strange markets!
