Ordered a stiffy kit for my brand new 2015 ES... I use a top case for long trips as well as a backrest for passengers... Don't want to chance it! Looking forward to getting the kit!

I'm hoping to order one soon, but with the exchange rate the way it is they work out a little dearer down-under - around $175. Still saving my pennies

Cheers,

Anthony

It is my understanding that installing the SR357 Givi rack, for my top box is similar, if not quite as good, as installing a "stiffy" kit. Am I close on this, or no cigar?

IMO you're spot on. Folks seem to think it's an either/or but you can install both. I have the SR357 installed but also have a stiffy kit to go on during the winter. Generally in the trunk I carry a 1/2 cover and my lunch but at times (on trips) I probably overload it. Regardless of what you do, consistent overloading and abuse (bouncing) are going to break something. Always have, always will.

Is it call in only?
I am interested in purchasing the kit as well.....but am facing the newbie problem of not being able to find a "search for member's ID" function in the forum software. Can one of you fine folks let me know Gerauld's username so I can PM him?

Thanks,
Page 1 of this thread, first post, first picture. His real name, address, phone number and email are right there.

Or go to 'SEARCH' and in the "GOOGLE CUSTOM SEARCH' box type his name. With an 'A'. G A R A U L D. Enter. His profile comes up. "Contact info'. Send him a PM. Tho I think an email to the address in post #1 would be more effective.

I've had my top case loaded many times, had a 12 pack and 2 bags off ice last time I made a beer run back to the camp site as well.
Muse have had at least 30 lbs in it and 2up as a back rest on more then one occasion.
I had no idea of these rear cracking issues, think I'll pull the back end apart and have a look, possibly weld something up to strengthen it.
Or I might just get lazy and order one.
Surprised yam aha hasn't done anything about this if it's a known issue.
