Questions about SHAD on a Givi SR346 (Gen 1)

Anyone have a SHAD SH50 mounted on a Givi SR346?

I purchased my SH50 and used it satisfactorily with the supplied mounting hardware on the stock rack for a few months before reading all of the doom and gloom related to cracked subframes. I decided to play it safe, ordered an SR346 and now that I have some downtime on my hands I went to install it.

However, the base plate for the SHAD doesn't have many good mounting holes which work well with the givi rack. The only two slots I could find which would fit, mount the case about 2-3" further back than I would like.

Anyone else have this problem? Did you drill new holes in the shad base or the luggage rack to adjust?

I just got done with the shad 59 insulation on a 14ES, much trouble getting all the hardware required, ended up having to do some bracket manufacturing. Put the SUB frame stiffner in , had to use longer bolts purchased from hardware store, the shad sets a bit further to the rear than it did on previous bike. I don't think I will load real heavy with it, perhaps a number of light items like sleeping bag etc, and some light clothing items , but not a lot of tools, service manual etc. It will serve as a good passenger backrest though and place to put road maps, atlas etc.

Thanks, looks like I'll need to do some drilling and adjusting myself. I don't load mine too heavy. Laptop bag is maybe 15 lbs loaded. But the thing I worry about most is my wife using it as a back rest, putting that lateral pressure on it.

I have a question for you guys. I have a Shad case on my bike and the little rubber bumpers on the mounting plate have broken. They're little mushroom rubber things with a pull tail to install them. I can't find them on the Shad web site. They look like little tire repair plugs.
