Blueskysea B1M camera install

Hey all,

I picked up a Blueskysea B1M camera kit recently and installed it today on my 2017 FJR. This is one of their newer models that has no screen on it.

Mounted the main unit under the pillion seat for easy access to the SD card. I used the included hard wire kit to power off the battery and used a piggy back fuse adapter for the accessory power connection.

Didn't bother with the remote trigger button - the unit appears to work ok without it and I don't record audio anyway so I don't need the mic. If I run into issues I'll install it but leave it next to the main unit.

Mounted the front camera onto one of the light control module covers with the screw and 3M tape, and the rear using one of the Givi rack mounts with a longer bolt. I disassembled part of the rear camera mount so that it would fit better in the spot and not hang down so much. The front is unmodified except I had to put a spacer behind the original screw hole to make it sit flush.

I need to figure out a way to disable the GPS, I don't like that the speed is printed on the footage. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

I made no modifications to any of the bike's bodywork so it can be removed with no issues.

Haven't tested it on the road yet as it's a long weekend here and won't get a chance until probably next weekend.

Hope this helps someone.

Cheers,
Dave

Looks good, post some videos or screen shots from the cameras!

Not too wild about the GPS tattletale. Perhaps that can be disabled. OTOH, that would certainly kill the myth of a 160 mph FJR.

Time spent looking at motorcycles, even Harleys, is never wasted.

The GPS antenna is an option, just remove it.

Went for a ride today with the B1M camera for the first time. I think the footage looks pretty good since I can read number plates when paused so that's more than enough for my purposes. See screenshot snipped from a video below. Both front and rear cameras are identical so their quality is also identical.
Can upload a video if a mod or someone can suggest the most suitable place for users on this forum.

Cheers,
Dave
