New owner, used bike, farkle ID help

I am the new owner of a 2006 FJR1300AE. The previous owner put a lot of farkles on it. Can you all help me identify them, please.

Different mirror.

Aftermarket windscreen.

Rear foot pad/extension, and shock. I know nothing about this shock. If anybody could assist in how to use/adjust, Iíd be grateful.

Givi rack and huge plate. Itís on top of the stock plate. Is the stock plate strong enough to support a big givi box?

Thanks all,

GypsyGiuseppe

GypsyGiuseppe,

Welcome to the FJR forum!

The windscreen should have the maker and model/ type molded or carved into the plastic.
Use a strong light to find the markings, at the edges or at the bottom of the windscreen.
The markings may be under the black plastic covers.

Cheers,
Red

Congrats, you have an aftermarket shock, be happy. There may be markings on the spring, which can be decoded to tell the spring rate. Better read up on how to adjust suspension. Maybe Penske has some guidelines?

You have Knifemaker passenger floorboards.
I can't identify the windshield.
Best advice on the rear rack is to get a Givi SR357 or the new Yamaha aluminum handrail or a Garauld stiffy kit (unless it has it already), check under the rear seat.

Windshield looks like a CalSci. They do come in different sizes. The differentiating feature is that little vent at the bottom.

The floorboards are paired with lowering brackets and can guards.

Iíve read up on the rear suspension on the Penske web site. Thereís way too much info on it and how to adjust it. I almost wish I had a stock shock with an aftermarket spring.

I agree with the Givi SR357. Thatís what I had on my last FJR. This one is a bit large and uses the stock rack under it for support. I will probably switch it out and sell this one. Donít get me wrong, itís a nice rack and has a Maxia E52 box with integrated lights, but the rack is so ugly.

The cruise looks like an Audiovox control, you'll know better once you locate the servo unit (maybe under your seat?). It is available at MurphKits.com

BTW, there will be a tech day in Auburn, WA next spring.... good chance to go learn something or get help. Good buncha guys out there in the PNW.
