2017 ES Skene P3 strobe brake lights + Back Off module

Installed Skene P3 strobe brake lights + Back Off module on my '17 ES.
Removed the rear red reflector and installed two strips in parallel, it was a perfect fit. Selected mode; 3x quick strobe, 3x slow blink, glow steady until you let go the brake lever. The lights are also lit at all the time, and I also selected the mode for them to flicker at all time (it's a very rapid flicker very noticeable during daytime and especially at nighttime.
I added a Back-Off LED module in line with my stock brake LED brake lights, so it's a real light show when I brake. The P3's are VERY VERY bright, feel sorry for people behind me

Love the Skene P3. I had the P3 TS on my F800GS and just bought the P3-D-TS for the FJR. Did you, by chance, take any notes or pictures regarding wire colors and their functions?

I installed some P3's on my FJR but they light up and flicker with the brakes pressed. But I have only the basic P3s.

Di I get a wire crossed as I'd like them on all of the time as running lights.

BTW - how did you install into the red reflector? Great place to install.

I wouldn't. If they are irritating, people will notice them. That's the whole point.

sorry I didn't take any notes or pictures of wire connections, I just followed the instructions from Skene site

https://www.skenelights.com/installation-p3

it's all there including the programming by pressing the front brake lever X number of times to select the desired flashing pattern.

I also Googled for pictures of "yamaha fjr1300 wiring diagram" to find out the color of the "running and brake" lights.

I just removed the red reflector and drilled new holes to install the Skene lights, hope this will help you, cheers Damir

@Damir - thanks for the reflector tip. Great lower position to create a "column" of light.

looks good. I went with the Whelen emergency flasher light and also did as you did, removed the reflector and the Whelen fits like a glove right there.

Hi All,

I finally sorted out the problem with the brake only and no tail lights with the P3s. With one blue wire running to my Givi top trunk, I patched into that blue wire instead of the "right' 12v switched power blue wire.

Bill @ Skene Lights was very helpful and pinpointed the wire mix up spot on!

Question: Who is running the Option 9 - brighter tail lights? (file attached)

Seems like you'd want that all of the time as a default - especially on a commuter bike in traffic daily?
