Those look like the Yamaha fins.... they may slow down a drop, but are at a fulcrum point.... if the bike has momentum, I think it will go over onto the mirrors. If you get the genuine FZ1 mirrors, they at least will fold up a little easier.
No, these are the factory 'sliders'. They are a rather expensive, but well engineered, Yamaha accessory.......but no pop out foot rests. The ones seen on most ST's are from Motorcycle Larry's shop, altho there are others.
I also have something like that... not Yamaha parts, but from Europe. It is mounted to the frame at two points, and looks should protect the mirrors if I drop the FJR at slow speed. Cost is almost the same, but did not need to trim the body work.
