GPS CITY BAD VENDOR REPORT

GPS CITY BAD VENDOR REPORT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is funny that I am writing this as I send these guys so much business. I have recommended many times for my customers to go to GPS City for GPS's and Ram Mount items that I do not sell.

Last week I ordered a Garmin C530 from them for my truck and got it yesterday. It was dead right out of the box. I called them and I suggested that at MY expense would ship the defective item back and that they send me a new one from there Nevada store, 2 day air which cost about $20.00.

I told them they could even charge my card for the second one and I would wait for a credit on the first and remember I was willing to pay the freight on the return with no reimbursement from GPS City.

They told me that if I wanted it 2 day air ($20.00) I would have to split the freight cost.

This is BS, I will no longer recommend GPS City and I apologize if anyone else that I recommended to them has had similar problems. I checked Walmarts web site this morning and found they have them in stock for a few bucks less also.

A side note: Art from GPS City In NV. told me to return it at my expense and they WILL NOT pay the return freight even when I told them I just wanted a full refund. He said "it is not my fault that Garmin made you a bad unit" This company, GPS City is bad stay away from them.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I only bought one piece of software from them in the past and had no problem.

I've purchased lots of equipment from gpsnow.com and I don't know their return policy, but I've had excellent service from them. Price was also great.

Everybody is turning into a SOB these days with the economy being so bad,not to mention inflation cutting away at the retail merchants bottom line......And now, to increase bottom line profits the manufacturers are laying off the cost of having to deal with their inferior merchandise on their dealers. It should be Garmin your pissed at...they are the ones not wanting to reimburse the merchant for cost involved in replacing a defective unit....My God man, if it didn't work right out of the box, that means Garmin isn't even testing them before sending them out....I guess that means a few more dollars to their bottom line..I figured when Garmin refused to offer Sirrus as even an alternative to the XM Radio they seem so hellbent on shoving down everyone’s throat, they must be a company run by pricks anyway.
