Hi Folks,

My name is John and I have been riding for over 30 years. I've been sport touring on my gen 1 FZ1 for the past decade and love it, but it has come time to upgrade. I just bought a pristine pre-owned silver 2007 FJR with 9k miles on it. I'm really looking forward to my first long tour on the FJR. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Getting some Pilot Road 4's put on it now so I don't have a photo yet, but here I am on my FZ1. I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Welcome, is that a paddle shift AE you have there? Let us know how you like it. Most of us have never ridden one and a lot of us are a little condescending about them, but there a bunch who love them and wouldn't trade them for the world. I myself would like to try one sometime. The other day I was caught in some traffic and my left hand started cramping. Please let us know how your transition from FZ1 to FJR goes.

Welcome. If you can sneak away in June for a few days, there are about 15 of us heading to Montrose, CO to meet and ride some of the great roads out there complete with a tour guide who lives there. If you are interested, pm me and I'll hook you up with a link to the ride.

Thanks philharmonic. Yes, it is and I certainly understand the attitude. I know it will be fine on the rare occasion I decide to hump it down I-10 west to make time. However, I like probably most here spend as much time as possible on the fun twisty roads. So yeah, I get it. Hopefully, I will have a chance to really test it by next weekend. I'll post up the experience as soon as I do.
