Default 2013 Heel guards

so Yamaha in their infinite tightness decided to install only one heel guard on the right hand side of the bike.....
Well yesterday i received another one and mounted it to the left side, so now they kinda match...

and yes i know the bike is dirty in the pic...

Are you referring to the chrome-ish shield on the exhaust pipe?

Default 2013 Heel Guard

Fairlaner,
I'm new to the forum and not sure how to post yet, but I read with interest your solution to the absence of a heat shield on the left exhaust pipe. I contacted babbittsonline, but the rep could not help me without a part number. Do you still have that number handy? Thanks for any help you can provide.
I found another parts fiche that showed only one heel guard on the right side. Also the right exhaust pipe had a welded bolt flange to recieve the retainer bolt for the heel guard. The left side pipe doesn't have the flange. Your installation appears to have the bolt recieving flange on the left pipe which makes a factory-looking install. How'd you do it???

The part number is 1MC-1471C-00 A121122Y. Purchased from Fairlaner (he had a spare). I still need to install mine too :-)

Thanks for the update! I tried that number just now at babbittsonline.com and it came back as not on file. I'll try their phone support and see what they can find. Have you figured out how to attach it yet?
