Well no replies for dates in May lately. A friend is organising a ride from Bris to Tenterfield on 10th May which is a good overnighter. Please advise if interested and I'll arrange for you to come. We go via Kyogle and Casino and stay at the Royal Hotel in motel style accom, twin share.

Hi Rod - b*gger, we will be away that weekend. I would love to do that trip. If you take the Lions road to Kyogle it is fully sealed, great ride, but with one or two tricky spots (watch those multiple crossings under the railway line - the runoff area is occupied by the Bridge pylons).

We discovered a great road 2 weekends ago - from Ipswich to Boonah (we had cut accross from the Toowoomba road, past Amberley - midweek, had to go to TWBA for the day). From your place that would be great road to take, then before Boonah head left to Beaudesert.

From end May my weekends become a little less hectic, so we can link up for more rides then.

David, I must have worn as big a track into those roads as you have to those roads in the GC hinterland.

Real men don't shout unless it's a round of drinks

On the other hand, cruiser riders shout all the time because their hearing is shot I SAID CRUISER RIDERS SHOUT ALL THE TIME BECAUSE THEIR HEARING IS SHOT, NOCCHI

Hi.
I'm assuming the ride is still on.?
I'm also assuming its a bit too far for anyone else in the Sydney region to attend, must be able to walk the next day.Might have to make it more interesting and go via Moonan Flat and up the dirt to Nundle.
Not that it matters much ,but I'll be at Colo at
8 .

Sorry Jimbo. I was away last weekend, couldn't possibly get away two in a row. Would have been a nice ride though. Watch the coppers up through the New England area, there is some suggestion that a group of bikers stirred things up last weekend and the local constabulary will be somewhat tougher on that particular breed of motorist in the immediate future.

David1300...
It was also my birthday during the week and I have been advised not to make any plans for the weekend as 'she is taking me out for dinner'. She sound pretty firm about this, I don't think I should even dare contemplate doing anything other than what she stated.

Oh oh - I think you have read the signs right Maybe you could suggest a compromise - you won't got for an away ride if she lets you stay home and watch the footy on Saturday night
After that, we will organise an escort of FJR's to the cemetery for you - one last ride

Hi Jim - I'm just an innocent and hope not to be caught in crossfire. Rod is Da Man on this one. Look for a post from him and email him, or hopefully he posts here later today.

I am still waiting for details of the route the Qld guys will be taking, and meeting/pick-up points.

Lastly from my side - our business has been caught a little in the tail of the the Pan Pharma comet, so there is a 50/50 chance that I'll be here in front of my 'puta tomorrow, and not breezing down the highway

Jimdavo - Rod called me and here are the details I have. We will be in Tenterfield late afternoon. Royal Hotel/Motel is at 130 High Street, 500m north of Post Office. Tel 02 67361833. Anyone who want to make a late addition, we are meeting at Murwillumbah - at the park next to the river (where bikes meet) at 11:30am. Looks like all riders are solo - mums are getting the day off

For anyone that's interested, There's a ride on Sunday 25th of May organized by Star Yamaha at Toombul. They plan to ride through the back of Mt Tamborine, Advancetown all the way to Murwillumbah, where we will stop for lunch.
Meet at Star Yamaha Toombul at 8.00am, leaving at 8.30am sharp. There will be at least 2 FJR's there that I know of (both silver).

Mike - right past my front door!! (well, just 2k's up the road). I know they have probably set the route already, but after Advancetown, they will go over the tick gate, down to Chillingham, THEN YOU SHOULD TURN RIGHT and go through Tyalgum and on the Murwillumbah. Adds about 30 minutes and 182 sweepers and twisties and grins to the ride. Zea will be away that weekend, so I (solo) will probably hook up somewhere before the ride up Tambourine. Let me know more detail of the route, if you have it.

You're right - didn't even look at the calendar, and didn't read your post properly either. I kinda get like that sometimes I would have been out there on the Saturday, wondering where all you guys were I might still be able to tag along some of the way, though.

By Shayne on Saturday, May 17, 2003 - 09:55 am:  View Shayne's Profile Search for other posts by Shayne Edit this post

Mike,
I may try to make that one also. It is a good route. I have not had the my bike out for a while due to precipitation and the Dragon not being a wet weather pillion of late.

May see you there.

Regards

Shayne
