Saturday 11am we passed a silver FJR heading south towards the Gold Coast on the Pacific Highway on the Logan River Bridge at 11am. Combined closing speed was probably 240k's, so didn't get any other detail.
We the beaut black one, 2 up, red helmets heading towards Brissie.
Anyone from here perhaps

Mike - did you meet Sean (the instructor with the South African accent). He and I raced karts together for a couple of years. He has a 1200 Bandit, but we haven't ridden together for a long while because of his weekend commitments.
I have been given a gift voucher to U-Drive day at Queensland raceway as part of my Rites of Passage from Junior Ulysses member to becoming a 'grown (groan) up'. Any other SE Qld FJR owner with a need for speed that would like to arrange to come along the same day? Day not booked yet - probably a Friday in November or January. Just let dearly beloved know what's on your gift/wish list, then buy it for yourself to save her the trouble

Yes we met Sean, seems a nice guy. After everyone finished driving he took someone for a spin to show us all, the speeds that can be reached when you know what you're doing. Boy can he drive.
I'll be on here most of the day if you want to chat, I'll be pounding the Internet looking for a new job, the temp. one I had has finished.

Silver FJR on Mt Glorious with Givi topbox - Saturday 19th around 1:30, stopped at roadside cafe. I was the black one who rode off without my backpack
and had to come back for it
Shows what can happen if you're in a hurry.
Was the silver one anyone we know from here?

I passed a silver FJR (coming in opposite direction) Saturday 19th on Bell's Line Rd, Mt Bell NSW at about 5:10pm. I was on a Blue one.
Was this anyone here?

Oh no, not the phantom again. Did the bike have two wheels, one front, one back, handlebars and a seat. Damn, who is this masked marauder?

How does that theme from Batman go again, 'they seek him they seek him there'

I think that saying is from the "The Scarlet Pimpernel"

Mine's silver but it didn't leave the garage over the weekend....just about the first time since I've had the thing!
Really had to get a bit of work done around here.

Is anyone in Brisbane going on the ride this sunday 27/10 being organized by Star Yamaha at Toombull?

All you Aussies remember that the 'Pink Ribbon Ride' in support of Breast Cancer Research is on this weekend. It's a really good casue and I think being males that we all have to admit that we have more than just a passing interest in the preservation and health of the items in question and the persons to whom they are attached.

Silver FJR heading north on Pacific Highway on Sunday 6 April. Exited at Nerang north, and turned towards Southport, around midday. Chequered pattern on fairing, 2-up. Anyone from here.
(I waved, but was in the car so it meant nothing
)

Red FJR with panniers, two up, heading west through Nerang to mountains today (Sunday) morning around 9:30 in a group of 30 or so, probably Ulysses. Anyone know who it is? Third 'strange' FJR seen around here in a week. Who are all you guys?
By David1300 on Thursday, April 17, 2003 - 12:35 pm:
Another one - spotted riding through Nerang towards mountains (exactly the same place as the Red one above), Silver, solo, no panniers, Wednesday 16 April 10:30 am with personalised plates ending in 01 (white letters on black). 4th 'stranger' in 10 days.

Gee David, you must have a very good vantage point there at Nerang. You don't seem to miss much. Did you see me driving through at about 7.30am on 19/4? VT Commodore with NSW Plates?
By David1300 on Sunday, April 20, 2003 - 12:38 pm:
Jwm - so that's who it was
We live just off the major through road to the mountains, and regularly see bike's heading alone or in groups to then thar hills
Never before seen so many FeeJers though

David1300..
I think I passed through Nerang on nearly every day I was there. On 3 occasions on the way to the M1 and the theme parks, a 4th occasion on the way to Bribie Island and the 5th occasion was when I was on the way home.
I was staying just behind Pacific fair Shopping centre and that was the quickest access to nearly everywhere I had to travel.
The Gold Coast is a nice place but the traffic on occasions was pretty hectic, as is life. Not sure I could live there.
By David1300 on Monday, April 21, 2003 - 07:56 am:
Jwm - we live the other side of the highway - about 3 to 4 minutes drive. Best of all worlds
- the mountains are 15 minutes to our west, the ocean 15 minutes to the east, winter gets down to a 'freezing' 15C (60F), we have one riding season a year that starts on 1 Jan at around 10am and ends on 31 Dec around 4pm, 20V's daughters and friends live down on the beach (at least it looks like they, or their body doubles, do
). Wouldn't live anywhere else

From my limited time on the Gold Coast/Surfers Paradise it is my belief that if I lived there on a permanent basis that I would suffer from a number of infirmities. The 1st being eye strain, the 2nd being concussion from the missus hitting me on the back of the head, the rest I will leave to your imagination.
I think that it would definetly be a case of getting my ambitions mixed up with my abilities.

I tell Zea that if I ever stop looking, just check my pulse, because she has probably just become a widow
and the owner of a well cared for black FJR
