Anybody want to meet me for breakfast in Seattle, Washington, USA on Sunday, October 13th?

I'm going to be in Seattle this weekend, and Sunday I'll be riding my FJR back to Spokane. I'd be up for meeting some wet-side FJR owners/waiters for breakfast somewhere. I'll be staying with friends in Lake City, just north of the U-district.

I've got quite a few mods on my FJR if anyone wants to see some, including the not-imported-to-the-USA foot guards, Lenker-Adaptor adjustable angle handlebar risers from Germany, 3 power outlets, a built-in dual-control Heat-Troller, Dual-Star heated grips, small TourMaster magnetic tankbag with V1 inside, and some other stuff.

License plate says: HMARC

Send me private email (hmarc@micapeak.com) if you want to meet up, or ride over the Cascades with me...

Sunday..., sounds great since I'll be working Sat.. I may accompany (follow) you over Stevens Pass (if that is in your plans) and loop back over Blewitt Pass, then Snoqualmie Pass (or if you're returning via I-90, I could do it in reverse order).

Seeing your bike may motivate me to get an earlier start on winter projects. I'm only 1/2 hour fr. Lake City area so will wait and see if there are any other responders.

OK, I've gotten personal email from two other guys (Gary, who lives in Wenatchee, and Malcolm who lives in Olympia) who want to join us.

How about meeting at 9:00am at Claire's Pantry, a resturant in Lake City. The address is: 12360 Lake City Way NE, Lake City, WA.

That makes 4 FJR's, anyone else want to join us? Any OCT/NOV waiters who just want to see and sit on an FJR?

Or Twister. He'd like to s*it on an FJR

I've heard from four other FJR owners, so there are potentially going to be 5 FJRs at breakfast on Sunday. That's almost critical mass in the former Colonies!

I'll bring my digital camera to capture the moment, and a big handfull of micapeak stickers in case anyone wants some...

Just curious, Marc, have you established a route to come back east? I might want to intercept you guys coming back over the Cascades at some town along the way.

Bill, I think it may be most favorable in my schedule for me to meet you somewhere on your ride from Moses Lake west then the two of us can proceed to an intercept with Marc and his entourage. Marc, is there a place you would want to pause where we can meet you?

Hmarc, I have to work today. Won't get off work until 8am. Sunday. Might be tough to make breakfast by 9 am from here. If I have a good night and you all eat slow I will try to hook up just to see your mods and pics. Silverbullet is a possible but he still has "issues".

Bill, Bikerschim.....,

Guess work here, but a possibility: Bkfst @ 9:00, would be guessing that after perusal of bikes and necessary bench racing, story telling and tech discussions, we should be rolling from Lake City about 10:30 or so. If Hmarc (this is his call) would be ammenable to the Stevens Pass-Hwy2 return route, we could rendezvous at the summit sometime between 1:00-1:30pm Sunday afternoon.Wet-siders could then loop back home over Blewitt/ Snoqualmie Passes (which were in the 20's last night)

Again, don't wish to meddle with plans he might have so I merely throw this out for a suggestion. Hoping he checks in here sometime today!!!

Fjroamer,

That works for me ... Marc does that sound like a suitable timeframe?

Bill - Where and when do you want to meet?

Hi Gary, (Bikerschim)
This cold snap has be scrambling to shut down my irrigation water. I won't be able to make the ride tomorrow.

Sorry,

Hmarc,
I think I can make it- breakfast that is not the ride over the mountains. I have to work in Seattle but I will try to find Claire's Pantry
and all of you before heading to work
I can't garranty a happy camper- My FJR got backed into at the Ferry dock today on Bainbridge Island Left a nice ding and scratch on the muffler and scratches on the hard bag
Some Jackass motorcyclist parked next to me and I suspect he backed into me
What really urks me is this S.O.B. did not leave a note or give a damm about the bike he backed into.
I had to go home and take a 2x4 to a tree I was so livid

OK -I'm OK now, but I don't think I will park at the dock free lot again

See ya for breakfast-

Bill,
Gotta take care of the pipes - temp here last night was 30.
I'll do the initial ride solo.
Catch you on another ride.

Schim..,
I'm guessing the "excursion" time/ route will not be determined 'till bkfst., at which time it will be too late to notify you (unless you have had other contact)
I'll shoot for a Stevens Pass Summit arrival between 1:00-1:30 even if it's solo. If I miss you, or end up looping alone, that's fine . I'll enjoy "roaming" through the Cascades!

Fjroamer -
OK, I'll target Stevens Pass for 1:00-1:30 that will give me time to cruise over the hump and down the west side a few miles. There's a great sweeping hairpin turn a couple of miles down the west side of the highway from the pass. If you want to call my cel phone number when the "excursion" time/ route is decided that would be helpful, 509-679-1620 I'll just keep headed west till I get your call. You may need to call once to let me know you are calling, give me a chance to stop and get my helmut off, then call again so I can actually answer the call. If I don't hear from you I'll be on Stevens Pass at the designated time. See y'all soon.

O.K., we found Schim!

What a day! condensed version: "they rode happily ever after".

Unabridged version: (get your reading glasses-or drinking glasses, for some )It was a crisp and clear, beautiful fall day here in the Pac N.W.. (pics to follow hopefully). The riding was judiciously spirited and enjoyed by all. Meeting new FJR-ers was a treat and perhaps the greatest thing about the day was that everyone left their egos at home (if they even had any?) Great conversation/ story telling/ data/info. swapping etc.

One topic of casual discussion was a potential N.W.FJR mini Rally next summer in Enterprise Oregon. BMWowners have used this location and it would work for Wa., Or., No. Cal, western Mont.& Wyo., Nevada and Utah (as well as for others coming greater distances)

Anyways, I'll let others add to this if they care to do so and am hoping pics get posted!!!! Great meeting and riding with you all, whatever you showed up on! And thanks Hmarc for sharing your time with us

hmarc's German bar risers

risers

Close up of the bar adapters. I beleive he said they were rotated forward about 8 degrees. Raised about 3/4inch. They felt very nice.

Very hot GPS stem mount. It needs to be a quick disconnect though. Maybe mix with the other popular mount?

Then most off to ride. Some others met on the East side but I went home so not for me to say. Not as big as a Brit ride, but wait until next year!

Well, that was a bit premature. The photo above is what you missed if you didn't ride with us over the Cascade Mountains in Washington, USA, yesterday.

I'm writing up a little Web page to document the day. It was fun! We had 6 FJRs in Seattle, 4 of us rode over Hwy 2 (Stevens Pass) and met a 7th FJR at the pass. Then we headed down the east side of the cascades, and took a neat (new to me) road called SR209. Lots of twisty bits, new pavement, gorgeous fall colors. We had a late lunch together, then split off for our various routes home. I stayed on Hwy 2 all the way back to Spokane, arriving home at about 6:45pm.

Looks like breakfast at the senior center.

Just kidding guys!! Great pics.

First pic of a gaggle of Feejers in the USA. The first of many!! Hope to see a few FJR's gathered in NY this coming weekend.

Bill,
You would have really enjoyed it - not trying to rub it in too much. But at least you saved your irigation lines. The roads will still be there when anyone wants to go again.
