Anyone for a retry?

O.K. Bill, you got the ball rolling at the end of the other thread. I've pondered this myself as has SilverBullet when we last chatted. Weather looks as though it will be accomodating.

Options..., rendezvous in Wenatchee again and head north, looping west over No. Cascades Hwy.?
Sat. or Sun. preferences...? (less traffic issues on 2 lane hwy.passes on Sat.)Also less pressed to get home at a reasonable hour, having to rise for work 4:30 am monday morn. (only my personal preference, which I will leave flexible)

Okay...,so who've we got here, Bill, Hmarc, Johnx, Sharp(quit poutin) SilverBullet, anyone else... (Nocchi)

Saturday would be fine for me as well. Traffic here is the same Saturday or Sunday... 5 cars either day! The Wenatchee Yamaha Shop would be fine as well.

At this point my weekend looks wide open. Saturday would be the prefered day for me as well, as I too have an early day on Monday. Count me in...

Now there is an idea. How about it Nocchi? You in?I know, I know. If you are late, we should just "wait" for you. Right?

Gentlemen - I have been following your 'meet at Condotta's ride over Washington Pass' thread with interest. I would like to add my FJR to the list, Saturday (9-21) would be a good day for me and my ride to Condotta's is only 5 - 10 minutes as I live in Wenatchee. What time do you estimate you would arrive in Wenatchee?

I am not a "fast" rider, but I'm don't drive like

I do want to return from all my rides. I promise not to do any wheelies or

Well stay tuned then, details forthcoming. And not to worry, THIS IS NOT A RACE..I for one have seen enough broken plastic for awhile, come along and just enjoy going for the ride.

Welcome "schim"!

I think many are seeing the need to excercise restraint on these bikes

We'll shoot for arriving at Condotta's between 11:00-11:30 am (Sat. 9-21).Then we can discuss route options, time/distance factors.

On the west side...,meet at Buzz Inn again (see other "Central Wa. Run" thread for directions) at about 8:00 am but not to eat!!!! (maybe just a cup of coffee). We'll go on to Skykomish to eat at the infamous "Sky Hotel" with Molly, the brothel ghost

...now off to work. will check back in tonite

Saddle up Sharp!!! We need a photojournalist

Sounds good to me guys. I will be at Wenatchee Yamaha at 11:00 to 11:30 also. The weather looks good for both sides of the mountains too, especially the east side.

Seeing Fjroamer's comment about eating at the Sky Hotel, got me thinking. Since the members of this board are obviously people with an appreciation for the finer things of life, how about a thread for good coffee stops in WA or the PNW for that matter. I am not talking about the 10 min stops for the loooong distance rides, but the 20-30 min for a cup of coffee and a doughnut. I would start off with two places, the Ohop Vally Bakery in Eatonville. Leave your calorie counters at the door. Don't know if they are open on Sunday though. Also the Trout Lodge at Rimrock retreat on the east side of White Pass on Hwy 12. Blackberry cobbler with ice cream. . One word of warning, if you are traveling with a pillion, they do have a gift shop. Very tempting stuff I guess, at least to my "rider" .

Meeting logistics:

These should be fairly close "guess-timates".

West siders (so far just myself & SilverBullet) meet at Buzz Inn, Monroe 8:00- 8:15 ish then proceed to Skykomish, for bkfst.(arriving 9:00) at Sky Hotel (turn into town and go to RR tracks, Hotel on l.h. corner).

East siders (so far, Bill & schim) Join us for bkfst if you so desire. Mileage fr. Wenatchee approx. 55 miles. Leaving Wenatchee at 8:00 should put you at the Sky at 9:00 which is projected arrival time of our party.

This would give us an option for riding either side (too many options???)
Otherwise, we'll preceed over the pass and arrive at Condotta's 10:45- 11:00 ish and can head on from there.

The No. Cascade Loop is 400 miles and add mileage for Bill and anyone else coming from a bit away. This could make for a too long or less than relaxed day for some..., or some could turn back at top of No. Cascade Pass..., or we can just go ride and discuss options as the hours pass

I'm just looking forward to riding and meeting new fellow FJR'ers

@ cascadefj

Don't want to pass up the renowned Black Diamond Bakery Some long waits on weekends but wander in just for the lingering aromas

I'll meet you at Condetta's at 11:00 cause my rear tire is at the wear marks and I am not fond of cold weather riding, especially if I have to watch for wet pavement.
So, see you all in Wenatchee.

Well, I made it back to Moses Lake before the sunset after the ride. Many thanks to FJRoamer for pushing the group into a fun ride with nobody getting hurt. There were 4 silver FJR 1300's and one silver also-ran and we had a ball.
We even got to get some exercise down in the sagebrush and old fenceposts.

I too returned just behind you Bill (and spent four hours building shelves when I got here) On the return to Wenatchee I collected an incredable number of little insects on my faceplate.

To see the day we had go to:

It was a great day to ride.
I'm looking forward to yet another ride, maybe next time I'll make it over Washington Pass.

Fjroamer, Silverbullet and I stopped for dinner so we made it home way after dark. I extend an open invitation to all our Aussie,NZ and Euro friends (and anyone else I forgot) to visit and try out our "country roads" These are just the close ones. There are three states and BC, Canada close and just full of more of the same (even better). All in all a great day and lots of fun. Here are some more pics of the day.

I just have to get back the that "bird strike" road this year. It was awesome. Hey, that also ran held up pretty good considering the rider was "gun-shy" and sore from crashing last week. Besides I came in silver so I could blend in.

Great pictures, would love to take up your invite, but I think I would kill myself riding on the wrong side of the road.

Sharp,

The photo record of your outings is fab, an inspiration to us all. This might as well be a magazine campaigh to sell FJRS. Good to see you back on the road.

Hey Bernie...,

Had you been on the ride, you may have made the corner that I "overreached"

Now we know what the cryptic comment on the exercise in the sagebrush and fenceposts means
